clyde reports

This page aims to give the reader an indication of the Forum's activities along with the latest research on coastal zone issues with a Firth of Clyde emphasis. It is intended for individuals to relay to the wider community the significance of their work and share their findings for the purpose of promoting strategic and integrated management of the Clyde and it's catchment.

Firth of Clyde Shoreline Archaeological Survey

In 2002, the Firth of Clyde Forum and The Scottish Archaeological and Paleoenvironmental (SCAPE) Trust were awarded a grant to survey the archaeology and geomorphology of the Firth of Clyde shoreline. The project has been funded by Historic Scotland and the Firth of Clyde Forum and started at the end of 2002.  Previously in Phase I, areas of the Ayrshire coastline, the Cowal Peninsula and the whole of the Isle of Cumbrae were surveyed.   The Phase II survey, carried out in winter 2003/spring 2004, covered the the Inner Clyde, the lower tidal reaches of the Clyde and the Isle of Bute.  Phase 3 covered parts of the Arran coast.  The reports will be available here shortly.
